Wow it’s been a busy start to the new year in this house with everything moving quickly and hopefully in the right direction!!! Well let’s be honest here, I class moving forward at any speed “the right direction”, so as long as things progress I’m a happy bunny. So without further ado let’s take a look at below for what’s got my so pumped for this year!!!
Back To Basics Routine:
Last year had me doing a lot of inconsistent work in the gym that really did no good at all. Above all else when hitting a routine I think one of the most important factors is that we maintain consistency. Otherwise we invite poor growth, poor motivation and most importantly poor form. With a lot of changes in my lifestyle last year (new job, diet etc) my ability of balancing everything faceplanted the floor……hard and my routines were just a joke.
I’m going back to basics with the new routine and doing a 3 day split focused around the main lifts. Those being, Deadlifts; Squats; Bench Press; Overhead Press; Power Cleans. With weights being added every workout I am focusing on growing my strength whilst maintaining correct form. With this being a 12 week routine I’ll be posting the results at the end of the routine to see where I’m at.
I’m finally enrolled into my personal trainer course and I’m so excited! I’m not sure where this will lead me, but I know that I find every aspect of it really interesting. I’ve got my first induction into the course on the 22nd so I’ll keep this blog updated with my progress.
