I hope that everyone has had chance to relax and enjoy some quality time with friends and family over the holidays. It’s always a tricky time of year here, as It’s not quite the same without my mum or dad around. However I am lucky enough to be able to make new memories with my wonderful wife and three daughters. I really would be lost without them.
When we think of a “new year” it’s a given that generally our first thought is “New Year’s Resolutions”. I’ve never really been one for setting them if I’m honest. I’m not sure why really, maybe I shy away as it’s the “Done” thing, and in my eyes you don’t really need a special date or time to start something new. I think a lot of the time new year’s resolutions help us escape the previous year and set us up to make the new one……better, or at least attempt to.
New Blogging Approach
Last year set a lot of “firsts” for me in lifestyle changes. And among those this blog was brought alive. However as real life has a habit of doing it posed a few challenges last year that slowed down where I wanted to be by now. However this will not deter me, and I will continue with a more simplified approach on the blog. I found I tend to have a habit of writing posts and filing them under ever catergory that I have, which must make navigating a bit of a nightmare for readers that want to find posts similar to those that they are reading. Therefore moving forward catergories will be Lifestyle; Fitness; Motivation and Nutrition.
The other area I wanted to tackle is the frequency of my posts. I found it very easy to get lost and not post anything for long periods of time last year. So with that in mind I’ll look at following the schedule below and see if that helps me improve.
Every Monday I’ll look at posting motivational content ranging from textual content, to simple photos. These will mainly be on my Intagram/Twitter feeds. This way it’ll allow me to keep the social side of my accounts covering things more than just my blog posts.
Every Wednesday I want to cover my progress of my fitness routine that I’m working through. It will cover everything from the ups and downs and even the nutritional side of things.
Fortnightly on Friday I plan on covering all things fitness. These posts will cover various ranges from advice that has helped me to interesting thoughts and ideas. I’ll start these fortnightly as posting to much in short periods of time might push posts down my page too quick, and therefore loose the coverage of my front page.
